The P-PIL team assisted in the challenge against the exclusion of blind candidates from the Indian judiciary. The application of an IDIA scholar, Arepalli Nagababu, who graduated from National Law School, Odisha, to appear in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Judicial Services Exam was rejected on the ground that he was visually challenged.
Without batting an eyelid, Naga took the court to court (literally!). On November 14, 2016, the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad directed the concerned authorities to accept his application and allow him to appear for the examination. The matter is still pending before Andhra Pradesh High court (W.P.31033 OF 2016).
